I don't like Samsung anymore than Apple but come on: You people know what this is all about. They are threatened by Samsung's looming success. This law suit is not about principles(Apple doesn't have any), it's about Samsung becoming a threat. They weren't even the ones who developed the tech for putting multi-touch into a small form factor It was Fingerworks,(which Apple bought in 2005 by the way). Apple even attempted to patent the multi-touch in it's entirety claimed to have invented it and put it in an apple trade mark: That's how self absorbed they are they even fail to look at how stupid they look when they behave in that manner. What we are having now is just the rehashing of that idea, and a lot of shameless self-promotion. I give credit to where credit is due, but for me the innovation ended there. The innovation was in putting it in a portable form factor such as a mobile phone. The first commercial multi-touch screen device to ever enter development was the Mitsubishi DiamondTouch in 2001. Maybe they'll put to good use the money they get from Samsung and actually innovate something again.ĪnonD-977, multitouch M-U-L-T-I-touch.What's up with the one liner, care to make a point? What about multi-touch? You think Apple invented that too? The earliest implementation of mutual capacitance touchscreen technology was developed at CERN in 1977 based on a capacitance touch-screen developed by Ben Stumpe in 1972. I'm not a Samsung fan, but I've always been a fan os its Galaxy S series and I'm really proud of their progress, would like to say the same for the iPhone too. Maybe Samsung did copy and indeed had to be sanctioned, but this is going way to far, it's about having an alibi to continue stealing their money for something they've done 2-4 years ago. And excuse me, hard work? The only thing I see giving them a sweat is this court war, I see no major changes between iPhone generations, I'm not exactly sure the same goes for the iPad so I'm gonna stay silent here, but dare I say it might be the same case. It's true they did innovate a lot of things and made our lives easier, but have they done it in recent times? Let's say, since this patent war waged between them? And did they invent something new? No, they did not. World of Apple (via MacRumors) spotted the patent, which was awarded last Tuesday to several Apple executives, including Steve Jobs, iPhone software chief Scott Forstall, and Wayne Westerman. "It has been about innovation and the hard work that goes into inventing products that people love." Not sure where 12 came from as there was always more than 12 in our party. Yes, it was in writing a party of 17 but there was a note to set the table for 12. Upon arrival we were told the table was set for 12. The 3rd call was the day before dinner to confirm the dinner for 17. The second call was to add 2 more people to the reservation for a totoal of 17. Ask to put me on hold so I don't have to hear your conversation next time please. The first time we spoke he started talking to someone else. All 3 times I was not very confident in our conversation based on how disconnected he seemed to be. I talked to the daytime general manager 3 times leading up to the actual dinner. For this to be a red county for the number of positive cases, you would think they would be taking this a lot more seriously. We live in a different city in NC where restaurants are really good at following the current regulations, so it was very strange to just be in a different city in NC and it seem like only 20% (or less) of the state mandated regulations were being followed. The manager wanted to argue about this, and it was like we were in the twilight zone. It more than likely will not spread through hot food, but it can definitely spread through cold food. The person I was dining with is an infectious disease researcher and had to correct him on this matter. He also goes on to say that it's not an issue for the kitchen staff to be without a mask because he has seen it can't spread through food. We spoke to the manager about all this and he apologized for the people not wearing the masks. There is also a singer that is walking around the restaurant within inches of the customers while singing with no mask on. While looking over the menu, we notice 3-4 other employees in the restaurant with no masks on at all, a person from the kitchen come out to get something from the bar with no mask on, and other servers wearing their masks under their nose which makes it useless. We were finally able to get a table that was properly spaced out from other people. Seeing there are so few restaurants in Banner Elk, we really didn't have the option to leave to go elsewhere at this point. We asked them why aren't they following this regulation and they say that most people don't mind and so they just continue to sit people close to each other. Current NC regulations require people to be seated at least 6 feet apart in a restaurant. Then when we asked to sit somewhere else, they tried to put us at a table that would have been like 2 feet away from a party of 6 people. us would have literally been inches away from them. They tried to seat us directly behind another couple where one of. The host that sat us did not have a mask on at all and was extremely rude. I definitely would not recommend this place during the global pandemic that we are currently in. From the funky art on the walls to the excellent and attentive wait staff.we give this restaurant a 10 out of 10! Thank you for making our anniversary so memorable! More We have had excellent dinners many times before but very rarely do you get such an amazing overall experience. We both ordered the filet which was delicious and the specialty coffee tableside (made by Felix.he's a TREASURE!) was incredible! This is definitely a must experience if you attend and was a first for us! I ordered the Italian Coffee and my husband ordered the Irish Coffee. I asked our awesome waiter if they had a spicy margarita and little did I know that they went to the restaurant downstairs to get fresh jalapenos! Talk about over and above! (Paul? He was AMAZING!) The crooner singled us out many times and made us feel so special! The staff knew beforehand that we were celebrating our 30th anniversary and sat us front and. We were BLOWN AWAY by the evening that we had at the Chef's Table! From the moment we walked in until the time we left, our experience was unforgettable. There was something brutally poetic about the combination - a ying and yang of empty solid and fluid congested with flavour. It absorbed readily, the white bean-flesh slurping up the dark, salty, resinous tar of Stubb's Hickory Liquid Smoke. I bought this liquid smoke as a marinade for a piece of tofu. My dishes have come alive too new flavour level that I'd thought never get. It's a good marinade addition or something to just throw in as you cook. See this as something you'd use like salt or pepper, a little is all that's needed to taste. I've not tried to use a whole lot but could see it being to overpowering if used that way. Not overpowering if you only use a spash(as listed on bottle). This adds what you can only call, a smoky hint while still letting the base ingredient to still come through. Stir fry a vegetable noodle dish, splash. I'll add this to anything, cooking mince for tacos, splash this first. Closer than my oven alone would do and much more than I could of expected. Obviously, despite my joke attack at outdoor wood smokers, they would do a stronger taste than a £6 bottle. I live in a flat, 1st floor flat with no garden to get a expensive smoker, so it's a no from me Mr Southern American accent cook with 100 subs telling me to get my smoker going. Was a bit nervous about this one, YouTube "master cooks" would make you belive you need a huge outdoors wooden smoker and to slow cook a item for 18 hours to get a smoke taste.
